CANCER AND THE ENVIRONMENT

CANCER AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Why do we recommend Neo-Paws shoes for your dogs?

The environment influences cancer rates and risks. Cancer is a renegade system of growth inside the human body. The changes that must occur inside for cancer to flourish are genetic changes, but factors outside the body also play a role.

Humans do not exist in contaminant-free surroundings. Over a lifetime, a person’s internal genetic makeup persistently interacts with external factors. Factors outside the body such as diet, smoking, alcohol use, hormone levels, or exposures to certain viruses and cancer-linked chemicals (carcinogens) over time may collectively conspire with internal genetic mutations to destabilize normal checks and balances on growth and maturation.

Environmental exposures can include such factors as sunshine, radiation, hormones, viruses, bacteria, and chemicals in the air, water, food, and workplace, an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, to only name a few.

Researchers have estimated that as many as 2 in 3 cases of cancer (67 percent) are linked to some type of environmental factor, including food, as well as exposures to radiation, infectious agents, and substances in the air, water, and soil.

And this is why we always stipulate the necessity to protect our dogs when outside, constantly exposed to these possible deadly toxins.

Every dog is different, so the way they contract the virus is always different one from another.  No-one really can pinpoint where the problem starts, but what we can tell you what is dangerous and how to avoid it.

So firstly, pay attention to the ingredients in the pet’s food and the tap water that we drink, although it is bacteria free, it was cleaned with 40,000 different chemicals leaving both humans and animals at risk!  It’s what we call a clean risk!

Secondly, use shoes on your dog when outside, whether it be in the summer running around on grass sprayed with pesticides, or in the winter when the chemicals are abundant en masse just about anywhere you go!

Thirdly, there are also bacteria on sidewalks, in parks, on the road that dogs are inhaling and ingesting through their mouths and paws since they are porous and the sweat glands are exposed constantly …every minute they are outside, they are susceptible to contracting a life threatening virus.

One example of cancers that start through the paws is : Digital Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Dogs can be afflicted with several types of skin tumors, even on their feet and toes. The most common type of type of tumor to affect the toes is a squamous cell carcinoma. A squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) can be described as a malignant and particularly invasive tumor that takes hold in the scale like cells of the epithelium – the tissue that covers the body or lines the cavities of the body. These scale like tissue cells are called the squamous.

Carcinoma is, by definition, an especially malignant and persistent form of cancer, often returning after is has been excised from the body and metastasizing to other organs and locations on the body.

So remember , the same reason we don’t walk around barefoot when outdoors, should be the same reasons your Best Friend should have a good pair of runners too!
